Meet Exercise Physiologist Yas Herath
With a deep-rooted fascination in human movement, biomechanics, and performance, Yasiru (or “Yas” as he’s often known) brings both precision and passion to his work. His background in exercise and sport science, combined with his love for cricket, originally sparked a desire to bridge the gap between physiology and performance, a path that now sees him helping golfers move better, swing faster, and play longer with less pain.
At Tailored Health, Yas is known for his ability to think strategically. Whether he’s working with golfers or general clients, he’s especially passionate about crafting structured, sustainable training plans that balance real-life demands with long-term results. He takes pride in helping clients map out their routines, develop lasting habits, and build programs that support not just their goals, but their overall quality of life.
Yas’s current clinical focus is in golf-specific strength, power, and mobility…helping golfers of all levels improve swing speed, movement mechanics, and performance longevity. But his love of periodisation and “roadmapping” health goals extends beyond golf, as he supports a wide range of clients in building routines that help them feel stronger, healthier, and more in control of their bodies.
Outside the clinic, Yas is quietly competitive with a personal goal to get his golf handicap to scratch. He’s also a fan of board games, computer games, and is gradually developing his green thumb as an amateur gardener. He’s currently working on reading more, when he’s not diving deep into TPI research or planning client programs!
His approach to health is simple but effective: “keep showing up, and aim to be the best version of yourself.”
